PALIMPSEST 
(LAUNCHING 2020)

Palimpsest applies this logic to the library—the paradigmatic rationalist institution—by decompartmentalizing fields of knowledge and encouraging participants to read seemingly disconnected texts alongseide one another. A basic algorithm generates combinations of books that it deems distinct, based on metadata assigned to each volume.

DIGITAL FABRICATIONS

What are the politics of design software? How is architecture adapting to a world largely dependent on platforms and scripts? What are the spatial mechanisms of the internet and VR? Using storytelling techniques, this book accepts that software is everywhere, and narrows in on a few ways it has taken command of our cultural products.

IBM PLEX MICROSITE
(2018)

Together with IBM we designed and built a new website to tell the story of their new corporate typeface: IBM Plex. Designed by Mike Abbink and Bold Monday, Plex is the first complete font refresh since Paul Rand’s legendary design system was established with Eliot Noyes in 1956.

MUSEUM OF CAPITALISM 
(2017) 

The Museum of Capitalism is an institution dedicated to educating this generation and future generations about the history, philosophy, and legacy of capitalism, through exhibitions, research, publication, collecting and preserving material evidence, art, and artifacts of capitalism, and a variety of public programming. The Museum’s inaugural exhibition appeared in Oakland, California in 2017.

GOOGLE MATERIAL DESIGN AWARDS

Since the launch of the Material Design system in 2014, Google has recognized the teams and companies that achieved excellence in applying material design to the creation of engaging user experiences. The physical award was given out at SPAN 2017 and was designed to represent the future of Material Design.

CONTROL SYNTAX RIO
(2017)

Rio de Janeiro is one of the most visible sites of “smart city” experimentation. In response to catastrophic natural disasters, calamitous traffic congestion, and urban health epidemics, the Centro de Operações Rio (COR) was designed as a corrective tool and as a new command and control hub that would allow the city to prepare for the 2016 Olympic Games
